Job Stories From Geneva, OH
Large, Dirty Crawlspace!

This house had a large crawlspace, accessed through a small chest height port. There were scraps of metal and other construction materials in the space on top of mounds of with bare dirt.

Crawlspaces like this are major sources of radon because they are a large surface area that the gas can easily escape through, especially when compared to concrete slabs that seals most of the gas out.

Because of this, in order to ensure safe radon levels, we decided to seal the crawlspace in our specially made liner, from that we were able to put a suction point underneath the material, as well as a suction point in the main basement slab to draw the gas out of both main sources.

This customer also opted to line the walls of his crawlspace with SilverGlo, which are solid boards of insulation that help to prevent moisture in the space as well as to make the house more energy efficient by stopping the escape of warm air into the cold block.
