How Much Does A Radon Mitigation System Cost?

The price of mitigation systems can vary greatly. There are many factors such as if an additional extraction point is needed, whether or not the homeowner wants an interior or exterior system, and if noise, aesthetics, or longevity of the system is a concern.

Our systems start at $1,250, though some mitigators charge lower than that, some at less than $1000, though there are reasons for that and each person has to decide if the differences matter enough to them. Some of these differences can be smaller cheaper fans that go bad much quicker, using thin walled PVC rather than the thicker schedule 40 that is required, not digging out the suction pit enough (which is vital to the system working efficiently), and other practices that may not be up to the homeowners standard. This is not the case for all companies that come in cheaper, but it is common for us to see when we go out to look at system repairs for clients of these mitigators.

Some variables that can affect the price of your system are whether or not you have a sump pit, if you need a second extraction point, or if you need cracks sealed. All of these are important parts of a mitigation system if they apply to you, so even with a base price of $1250, the cost of a system can go up from there if any of these are needed.

As mentioned before, we also have various options for concerns of the homeowner, we have the option to go solely through the interior of the house and go through the roof, we have mufflers to quiet the system, we have fan covers to help the system better blend into the house, and we also have our “Fan Moisture Guard” which is essentially a condensate bypass that helps to prolong the life of the fan and enables us to increase our warranty from 5 to 10 years. Though these do add to the cost of the system, to almost all of our customers, they are more than worth it.

At Harner Radon Relief, we do everything we can to educate our customers, this way no one is getting sold anything, the customer is simply choosing what they believe has value to them.

I hope this gave you some insight into the range of prices for base systems and also some insight into what to look out for when taking quotes from radon mitigators.
